Sunderland striker Bertrand Traore returns to the squad after injury: I'm ready to help the team.

Sunderland, nicknamed the "Black Cats," will travel to Elland Road to face another newly promoted team, Leeds United, in the 29th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Bertrand Traore, returning from injury, said in an interview that he is happy to be back on the pitch and is ready to help the team.

In their last match, Sunderland took the lead in the first half through a goal from Eliecel Mayanda, but conceded a second-half goal to Evanilson, ultimately drawing 1-1 away to Bournemouth. After a run of 1 win, 1 draw, and 3 losses in their last 5 matches, Sunderland currently sits in 12th place in the league table with 37 points.

As for Leeds United, Daniel Falk's team is in 15th place with 31 points, having lost 0-1 to Manchester City in the last round of the league.

When asked about his feelings on returning to the field after recovering from injury, 30-year-old Bertrand Traore said, "It's been a long wait for me, and I'm happy to be back on the field. Regarding the previous record against Bournemouth, Bertrand Traoré said, "We showed a lot of fighting spirit and intensity, and we felt we deserved more. Some decisions were against us, but that can't be changed now. We must focus on ourselves and continue to improve."
